On July 23rd, the Catalan health system published a preliminary market consultation on the construction of an open health platform. The presentation of this consultation took place on July 31st, and in addition, a webinar was organized in English for interested international suppliers.

The purpose of this market consultation responds to the technical and functional challenges in deploying open health platforms, as well as the need to outline the platform’s design. Additionally, it aims to inform active market operators about this necessity.

The construction of the platform has three main objectives: to define the essential architectural components, explore the technological approach for building an application market around the platform, and determine the necessary services to support users. Two secondary objectives have also been established: collecting experiences and best practices in similar projects, and identifying possible collaborations and partnerships.

This preliminary market consultation is part of the Catalonia Digital Health Strategy 2024-2030, which is likely the most strategic initiative of the Catalan Health System for the coming years and aims to transform and modernize the Catalan health system through a radical change in the health information systems model. This strategy seeks to enhance the quality of health services, as well as to promote collaboration and technological innovation to improve healthcare and the health of Catalonia’s citizens.

Here you will find the explanatory video of the preliminary market consultation in English and the document that was presented.

To participate in the market consultation, you need to fill out a form and respond to three use cases, two specific and one general. All interested parties can access the relevant information and documentation (important dates, form, participation requirements, use cases, etc.) on the Public Procurement Services Platform of the Generalitat de Catalunya (PSCP). The deadline to participate in the consultation is October 4th, 2024.
