Femtech France Barometer 2025

Each year, Femtech France publishes a barometer to provide an overview of the sector. Femtech France is an association dedicated to improving the health of women in the future. Since their creation, they have supported innovative startups in women's health (femtech) through a collective that offers networking, expertise, and visibility.

Femtech France is the first association in France to advocate for innovation in women’s health, with over 80 startups currently members of the collective. Its main missions are:

  • Catalyzing innovation by actively supporting the creation and growth of bold projects that shape the future of women’s health.
  • Fostering the ecosystem by connecting startups, industrial players, healthcare professionals, pharmaceutical companies, and healthcare structures to create powerful and sustainable synergies.
  • Financing innovation in women’s health by bringing together experts in funding and investment to help French femtech startups grow.

Every year, Femtech France publishes a barometer to provide a state of play of the sector—an essential tool for analyzing the resilience, growth, and funding needs of French femtech startups. It highlights successes, identifies barriers, and uncovers market opportunities for the years ahead.

The 2025 Barometer highlights the resilience of the industry: 55% of startups have already passed the critical three-year mark, demonstrating their ability to establish themselves sustainably. Even more encouraging, 30% of them have been operating for over five years, clearly signaling that the femtech market is not a fleeting trend, but a durable reality that continues to grow. These results reflect the market’s viability and its ability to withstand economic uncertainties and the challenges that come with the lifecycle of a startup.

We also see significant growth in French startups: between 2023 and 2024, nearly 39% of startups doubled their revenue, and 18% surpassed the €1 million revenue mark in 2024. These results are driven by both the growing interest of users and the fact that several femtech topics are now recognized and supported by the government (such as endometriosis and mental health).

Funding remains the primary need, but trends are evolving positively: a quarter of the startups surveyed have already raised over €1 million, reaching a crucial milestone for their development. Half of them plan to raise funds in 2025, demonstrating the ambition within the ecosystem. For investors, this represents a unique opportunity to support these actors who combine innovation and health.

Innovation for better health for women is a global movement that engages all institutional, financial, and public stakeholders, enabling the questioning of all diversities. 2025 presents an opportunity for French femtech to position itself as a European leader in this field.
