Digital Health Slovakia is a Slovak nonprofit association that brings together diverse stakeholders and technical experts involved in the digital transformation of healthcare in the Slovak Republic — including public institutions, healthcare providers, academia, researchers, and IT partners.

Its mission is to promote digital health, interoperability, and standardisation, providing a collaborative platform for education, advice, research, and implementation of best practices that support modern, data‑driven healthcare systems. As part of this role, the organisation also engages with European initiatives such as the European Health Data Space (EHDS) and represents standards bodies like HL7 Slovakia in efforts to advance consistent, internationally aligned approaches to health data exchange and digital health infrastructure in Slovakia.

Objectives
  • Promote Interoperability and Standards.
  • Ensure that health data and IT systems across Slovakia can exchange information seamlessly.
  • Advocate for adoption of international standards such as HL7 FHIR to enable cross-border and national data sharing.
  • Support Digital Health Transformation.
  • Facilitate the implementation of digital health tools, telemedicine, and eHealth services.
  • Accelerate the modernization of healthcare delivery and patient-centric services.
  • Foster Collaboration Across Stakeholders.
  • Bring together government institutions, healthcare providers, academia, industry, and researchers.
  • Enable knowledge sharing, joint projects, and best practices for digital health initiatives.
  • Engage in European and Global Initiatives.
  • Represent Slovakia in initiatives like the European Health Data Space (EHDS).
  • Align national strategies with EU regulations and international standards.
  • Promote Education and Awareness.
  • Provide training, workshops, and guidance on digital health, data governance, and cybersecurity.
  • Raise awareness of the benefits, challenges, and opportunities in digital healthcare.
  • Enable Data-Driven Health Innovation.
  • Support secondary use of health data for research, public health, and policy-making.
  • Foster innovation in AI, analytics, and predictive healthcare technologies.
