United States – Global Health Innovators Nashville Ecosystem

Nashville is one of the world’s leading centers for healthcare services and innovation, anchored by more than 500 healthcare companies that operate and manage care delivery across all 50 U.S. states and select international markets. The region is home to 17 publicly traded health care headquarters, including global leaders in hospital operations, senior living, behavioral health, ambulatory care, and health services platforms giving Nashville unmatched scale, purchasing power, and real-world influence on how care is delivered.

Complementing this industry base are world-class research and academic institutions, including Vanderbilt University Medical Center and three additional medical schools, alongside a fast-growing digital health and life sciences community. With over $97 billion in annual industry revenue, a workforce exceeding 500,000 globally, and deep engagement with international partners, Nashville is an active and collaborative region, contributing provider-led insight, operational scale, and a strong U.S. market perspective to global health innovation efforts.

Objectives

The Nashville ecosystem's objectives include to establish Nashville as a domestic and international healthcare innovation hub, participate in global projects, host meaningful events, and enable solutions addressing rising cost of care, aging populations, and critical workforce shortages.

We also aim to support international companies exploring the U.S. market by providing a welcoming entry point and connections to partners across health care, research, and industry. The ecosystem helps companies build relationships, explore pilot opportunities, and form partnerships with local and national organizations, while gaining a better understanding of the U.S. healthcare environment. By bringing together providers, universities, startups, and business leaders, Nashville focuses on attracting investment, supporting company growth, and strengthening international collaboration in health and life sciences.
