Chronic pain has officially been added to the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-11) and will come into effect this year. To tackle the topic and any questions you might have, we are hosting a multi-stakeholder virtual event on 29th November 2022. During this Zoom event, speakers and participants will discuss the findings from the SIP Road Map Monitor 2022, which will be launched on the same day.

On 29th November 2022, SIP will host a multi-stakeholder virtual event entitled “Pain in the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-11): a SIP Event”. During this event, speakers and participants will discuss the findings from the SIP Road Map Monitor 2022, which will be launched on the same day.

The Road Map Monitor was also conducted in 2019, but is now repeated to understand how national guidelines, action plans, and the status of policies supporting the updated priorities of SIP, have evolved in the last few years, especially, after the challenging past 2 years with the COVID-19 pandemic.

More details including the agenda will follow soon.

The ‘Societal Impact of Pain’ (SIP) platform is a multi-stakeholder partnership led by the European Pain Federation EFIC and Pain Alliance Europe (PAE), which aims to raise awareness of pain and change pain policies. The platform provides opportunities for discussion for health care professionals, pain advocacy groups, politicians, healthcare insurance providers, representatives of health authorities, regulators, and budget holders.
The scientific framework of the SIP platform is under the responsibility of EFIC and the strategic direction of the project is defined by both partners. The pharmaceutical company Grünenthal GmbH is the main sponsor of the Societal Impact of Pain (SIP) platform.
