The American Telemedicine Association (ATA), through its ATA Action – Advancing Digital Health Coalition, is driving forward key policies to protect access to virtual care and accelerate digital health innovation across the United States.
This leading industry forum brings together diverse stakeholders to shape advocacy strategies and amplify the collective voice of digital health leaders. The Coalition focuses on advancing policies around artificial intelligence (AI), digital therapeutics, Prescription Drug Use-Related Software (PDURS), and remote monitoring technologies — all critical to building a modern, patient-centered health system.
Current priorities include:
AI in Mental Healthcare: Providing expert input to the FDA’s Digital Health Advisory Committee on generative AI applications in mental health.
Physician Fee Schedule Reimbursement: Collaborating with Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs) to accelerate adoption of digital mental health treatments.
2025 Access to Prescription DTx Act: Supporting federal legislation to expand patient access and reimbursement pathways for digital therapeutics.
Prescription Drug Use-Related Software (PDURS): Representing industry consensus in recommendations to the FDA on PDURS draft guidance.
The Coalition’s work exemplifies how strategic collaboration can ensure that policy keeps pace with technological innovation, enabling equitable and sustainable access to digital healthcare.
