Women spend 25% more of their lives in poor health than men. That statistic, from McKinsey, sits behind a staggering volume of under-researched conditions, underfunded solutions, and underheard stories.

This June, HLTH and BBC StoryWorks Commercial Productions are doing something about it.

The Shift is a new branded content film series following real women navigating distinct health challenges, and the clinicians, researchers, and advocates working alongside them. Short, cinematic, and built to reach the people with the power to act.

The series covers five areas where the gaps are most acute: chronic and autoimmune diseases, reproductive and maternal health, mental health research, menopause and healthy aging, and cardiovascular disease.

It launches at HLTH Europe in Amsterdam on 15 June 2026, where global health leaders are gathering to tackle the biggest challenges in health innovation. The story then continues at HLTH USA in Las Vegas in November, taking the conversations started in Europe to one of the world’s most influential health stages.

This is storytelling in service of change. And it’s just getting started.
